Several years ago in Cambridge SD Gordon share the story of a young politician in the House of Congress concluded that God did not exist, even to give a lecture about why God did not exist. Political youth to share a night while sitting in the House of Congress "a feeling came over me that the God whose existence I thought I could refute was all over me." At first I thought it was contagious influenza that has clouded his mind, then began to take long walks through a period of several days in the hope that he could not shake this feeling, but could not.
Finally, after several days, returned home and told us that his wife had made a pact to pray with friends, until he had dedicated his life to Christ. When asked the day he began this prayer, he realized it was the night when she felt God's presence. "I was very excited" to be shared. Soon after, he gave his life to God. But this is only half the story.
Wanting to know the rest of the story SD Gordon spoke with the woman to man. It said he felt an urgent need to begin to pray for her husband that fateful night. As he knelt to pray to God, saying he felt, "Are you praying for the results that have been if her husband becomes? She replied: "Oh God, pray everything is fine except that my husband can get to know and become a true believer. "When she finished praying, she never doubted that God would do something wonderful.
As Gordon arrives at the conclusion of the history, man was created to be governor, and his wife to become the first lady. Instead, he left his post with the State and became a pastor, leaving behind a lucrative career and home for a job "with a very different social and income is very different." However, they have never been happier. After talking with Gordon's wife, said: "I never met a woman who had most wonderful peace of God in his heart, and the light of God in the face, this woman." What a powerful image of what Jesus taught when he said "You should always pray and not give up" (Luke 18:1).
