Buddhists: Do you follow all the precepts?
It's an easy question. Buddhists advocate for true peace and compassion for all, not a lack respectful statement of his beliefs on this issue. I promise. From what I read, does not follow the requirements if you: defend themselves against violence with violence, perfume, watch TV, go dancing, listening to music, to accept a gift of gold silver (jewelry). I read the teachings of this page: http://www.thebigview.com/buddhism/precepts.html Is it right or was misinformed? Thank you.
There are five precepts lay Buddhists follow. Veramani sikkhapadam Panatipata samadiyami: I observe the precept to abstain from destruction of life. 2. Adinnadana samadiyami veramani sikkhapadam: I observe the precept to refrain from taking what is not given. 3. Micchacara Kamesu samadiyami sikkhapadam veramani: I observe the precept to refrain from sexual misconduct. 4. Musavada samadiyami veramani sikkhapadam: I observe the precept of no lying. 5. Suramerayamajjapamadatthana samadiyami veramani sikkhapadam: I observe the precept to refrain from alcoholic beverages that clouds the mind and cause carelessness. I do what I can keep everyone. Others speak as you do not wear jewelry or watch entertainment are additional requirements monks. I did not take any offense to your question, I have seen an interest in other belief system. Hope this helps, Pangloss
