You've been invited to donate to relief efforts for the recent tragic earthquake in Haiti. We plan to donate and money, but you are confused about where and how. If the disaster is far from only three days and has already received four applications by e-mail different from all the calls, or the Red Cross or Army Hi. You have been contacted on your Facebook account and there are many requests for donations going on around Twitter, and now that it has received a phone call requesting a donation. How can you be sure the money you give to the organization you want to go in other words, what about the cheated?

Scams Disaster relief can include phishing scams that try to not send money or organization can collect your personal or financial information for the flight identity. Scammers can say they are victims of the disaster and ask for direct financial support for them. More insidious are the fraudsters that families of victims of contact to help to provide a price, perhaps to find a lost family. The only element common to all thieves, who want to take advantage of a disastrous situation.

the man-made disasters are often slow to provide the best in people as a society. However, it also is a sad state of human nature these disasters will highlight the scam artists who seek use the disaster as a chance to take advantage of our generosity. What can you do to protect and ensure your donation in the right place? What are some simple steps you can take to protect your gifts.

If you are not on their mailing list, large organizations names like the Red Cross, the Army Hello, MSF, UNICEF or contact you directly for specific gifts. Same if you are on your list is good chances of contact even shortly after the catastrophe. So e-mails of large organizations should be carefully examined and treated with skepticism.

If you wish to donate directly to these organizations, then check your local phone book for local call directly to learn how can donate. It is always safer when initiate the contact.

With smaller organizations that you may or may not have heard of them contact the Office of Business Ethics (target = "_new" rel = "nofollow" href = "http://www.bbb.org"> www.bbb.org). Visit his website, but go directly, instead of clicking a link on the website e-mail. And not just go by how a website looks, that fraudsters sophisticated can launch a genuine search site appears to be a legitimate charity within hours of a disaster. Scammers sometimes just changed web site seen disasters before disaster take account of need and, surprisingly, have their new charity and implementation.

This does not mean that every application grant you receive is incorrect. Most Web addresses will be legitimate, but just be aware and additional control before pressing the "Donate" button. In a future article I will talk about some specific things to look for in an e-mail and specific measures taken to protect yourself from getting scammed.
